One year ago today (seems like SO much longer than that) I walked into a bookshop with my mother because she needed to get some prizes for her Sunday School prizegiving.
She was taking FOREVER. I love books so I decided to browse. My eyes caught upon the red-edged pages of a book on a shelf in front of me. Twilight.
I remembered a friend telling me about these books, promising she'd lend me them if she ever got them back from her friend (GAH! SHE LENT THEM OUT?!?!?!? I know, I know... it's not ours it's okay!) but nothing ever came of it.
Anyway, I picked up the book and started reading. Three chapters later and my mum was still shopping and my daughter was getting restless in her buggy for a nap. I bought the book, took my daughter with me to the car where she promptly fell asleep.
I kept reading and was over a third of the way into the book by the time my mum came out!
That night, my husband and I were driving down to London as we were seeing Take That at Wembley the following day. I read the whole way down and was finished by the time we arrived.
I know it's a cliche, but the rest is definitely history!
